A cool use of Technology for Good.

Bloged in James by James Thursday June 26, 2008

About 3 months ago, while preparing a lesson on studing the scriptures for Elders Quorum (My  church’s mens group) ,I came across a site that has been quite helpful for me. It is called  readthescriptures.com.

The site allows you to automate your scripture study by setting up a schedule and then once that scedule is set up. You receive a daily email of the section of scriptures that you should read that day.  Since I check my email every morning, this has allowed me to fit some study time into my day that is often filled with many interuptions. One other nice feature is you can actually log onto their site and keep a journal of thoughts related to the scriptures also. Which I have found helpful too.

I have included a link below to the site and hope that any of you reading this, that have daily access to technology, can benefit as I have from its use.

In the process of remodeling our house Justin has been there under Dad’s feet every step of the way.

Here  is an example of him helping the other night as I was finishing up the BaseBoards. He is really handy with his play skill saw

What a Great Father’s Day.

Bloged in James by James Monday June 16, 2008

Father’s Day was great this year. My family, in an effort to make up for my pretty much forgotten birthday, Did a great job of treating me like a king. The day started with breakfast in bed, and got better from there. They even got me the final season of my favorite show Home Improverment on DVD to complete my set.

Well I just looked at my calendar and realized that June is half over. Which means that 2008 is almost on the down hill side. It has been a crazy hectic year with all that has been going on.  I appologize for not getting as many photos posted as I would like. Although we should be able to get things up and going again now that we have relocated our camera that went awol.

It seems that in a combined effort to stop all picture taking at our house, Syd and Justin hid the camera  in one of Syd’s many purses.  However after much searching, Tina and I being at a loss ,we finally bribed Syd with the right thing to jog her memory. Anyway we should start posting some picts in the near future.

For now though here is a picture Jana took the other day of Syd and AJ.
